# Job Application Form Template > A bright split-screen application in two steps: first the candidate’s contact details, LinkedIn profile and a portfolio or CV link, then the role they want, how they would like to work, the earliest start date and why they want to join. A HR template in the new Vonza Forms, “Job application”: A bright split-screen application with links and role preferences. ## What a job application form is for A job application form gives every candidate the same questions, so applications can be compared fairly and nothing important is missing when the hiring team starts reading. It replaces CVs arriving in an inbox with a list you can sort by role. This template asks for a portfolio or CV link rather than a file, which keeps the form quick on a phone, and makes it required. The second step names the role from a dropdown, the working style the candidate wants, an earliest start date that cannot be in the past and one open question about why they want to join. The thank-you screen sets expectations: a reply within a week. ### Who uses it - Small companies and startups hiring without an applicant tracking system. - Agencies and studios collecting applications for several roles at once. - Restaurants, shops and gyms hiring seasonal or part-time staff. - Charities and schools recruiting staff and trustees. ## What’s in the template Every question exactly as the template builds it, page by page. Change, add or remove any of them in the editor. Form title: “Join the team at Harbor Labs”. Progress shows as steps. ### Page 1: About you - **Full name**: Name · required - **Email**: Email · required - **Phone**: Phone - **LinkedIn profile**: Link - **Portfolio or CV link**: Link · required ### Page 2: The role - **Which role are you applying for?**: Dropdown · required · Product designer, Frontend engineer, Backend engineer, Customer success - **How would you like to work?**: Multiple choice · Remote, Hybrid, In the office - **Earliest start date**: Date · No past dates - **Why Harbor Labs?**: Long answer · required ### Button and thank-you screen - Submit button: “Submit application” - Thank-you screen: “Application received”, Thanks {{name.first}}. We read every application and reply within a week. ## How to customise it A template is a starting point: every word, question and colour stays editable. - **Take a CV file**: Add a File upload block set to documents, up to ten files of 25 MB each, or keep the link question if you prefer fewer attachments. - **Ask role-specific questions**: Add a page of questions for each role and use “Skip to page” logic so a designer never sees the engineering questions. - **Screen with a short assessment**: Add a few scored questions in Quiz mode so each application carries a score you can sort by in Responses. - **Close the role on time**: Set “Close on” to the application deadline, or limit responses if you only want the first hundred applicants. ## What happens after someone submits The same Vonza Forms settings run behind every template. These are the ones this form uses. 1. **The response arrives in Responses**: Each response opens with every answer, the device and the time it took. Export all or some of them to CSV or Excel, or download one as a PDF. 2. **You and your team are told**: The email to you goes to you and up to five teammates on every response, with all the answers or a message you write, plus an in-app notification. 3. **The respondent becomes a CRM contact**: Everyone who leaves an email (here, “Email”) becomes a contact in your Vonza CRM, tagged with up to ten tags you choose. Existing contacts keep their details. 4. **They get a confirmation**: Turn on the email to the respondent, with your own subject and message, and attach their answers as a PDF. 5. **Automations and webhooks take over**: Use “Contact fills this form” in Automations to enrol people in a course, start an email sequence or add them to a list, or post each response to Zapier, Make or your own server with a webhook. Move each application through New, In progress and Done, and keep interview notes on the response where only your team sees them. Yes. Add a File upload block for documents; it takes up to ten files of 25 MB each, stored privately. The template asks for a link instead, which is quicker on a phone. ### Can the hiring manager get each application by email? Yes. The email to you can go to you and up to five teammates on every response, with all the answers in the message. ### Can I send applications to my own HR system? Yes. Add a webhook and each new response is posted to Zapier, Make or your own server, signed and retried if it fails. ### Can I use one form for several roles? Yes. Keep the role dropdown and use logic to show or skip pages of role-specific questions, then filter Responses by role.
