# Community gamification that rewards your most active members > Members earn a point for every post, comment and reaction, climb levels you name, earn ranks with badges for time in the community and race for the podium on the leaderboard. A level can unlock a course or a digital product automatically. ## Points, levels and ranks, built in Every Vonza community comes with a leaderboard, levels and ranks. Members see how to climb from day one, and you decide what each step is called and what it unlocks. - **A point for every post, comment and reaction**: Members earn 1 point for each post, comment and new reaction. The rule is the same in every community, so members always know how to climb, and a deleted post never takes points away. - **Levels with rewards that unlock**: Name each level, set the points it needs and choose what members get when they reach it: a course, a digital product, or a reward you describe that is sent to the member by email. - **Ranks for time in the community**: Ranks unlock with the days since a member joined, from day one up to ten years. Give each rank a badge: upload your own or pick one of Vonza’s. ## Everything a community leaderboard needs The leaderboard is a section of every community, beside Feed, Classroom, Events and Chat. Members open it in the browser on any phone or computer. - **A podium for the top three**: The three members with the most points stand on a gold, silver and bronze podium, and the leader wears the crown. - **All time or the last 30 days**: Members switch between All time and Last 30 days. In the admin you can also look at the last 7 or 90 days. - **Your rank, and who to pass**: Every member sees their place, their points and how many points they need to pass the member above them. - **The levels ladder**: A ladder lists each level with the points it needs and ticks off the ones a member has reached. - **Ranks with badges**: Members see every rank, its badge and when it unlocks. A member’s rank shows on their profile and their You page. - **Celebrations**: Streaks of 3, 7 and 30 days, 10, 50 and 100 reactions on a post, level-ups, rank-ups and a top-three month each get a celebration. - **Points on every profile**: Profiles show points, rank, posts, comments and an activity heatmap. Member cards in the directory show level and points. - **Fair counting**: Members who tie share a place, so two members on the same points never split by chance, and the community owner stays off the board. ## Progress every member can see The You page puts each member’s points, place, posts and comments at the top, with a bar showing the points left to the next level. You name them, attach rewards and let members climb. 1. **Name your levels**: Open Leaderboard, then Levels. Give each level a name and the points it needs, up to 1,000,000. 2. **Attach rewards**: Pick courses or digital products from your account, or describe another reward. Each one unlocks automatically when a member reaches the level. 3. **Set ranks and badges**: Under Ranks, choose how many days after joining each rank unlocks, then upload a 128×128 badge or use one of Vonza’s. 4. **Members post and climb**: Members earn points as they take part, follow the leaderboard and their You page, and get a celebration at each milestone. ## Questions about community gamification ### What is community gamification? Community gamification turns taking part into progress members can see. In a Vonza community, members earn points for posting, commenting and reacting, climb levels, earn ranks for time in the community and appear on a leaderboard, with rewards and celebrations along the way. ### How do members earn points? Members earn 1 point for each post, comment and new reaction. A reply to a comment counts as a comment. Points are not taken away if a post or comment is deleted later. ### Can I change how many points an action is worth? No. Point values are fixed at 1 point per post, comment and new reaction, the same in every Vonza community, and there are no custom point rules. What you control are the levels: their names, the points each one needs (up to 1,000,000) and the rewards attached to them. ### What rewards can a level unlock? A level can unlock courses and digital products from your Vonza account, and an "Other reward" you describe in your own words, such as a 1:1 call with the host, which is sent to the member by email. Rewards are granted automatically when a member reaches the level. Ranks can carry rewards in the same way. ### What is the difference between levels and ranks? Levels follow points: a member is at the highest level whose points they have reached. Ranks follow time: each rank unlocks a set number of days after a member joins, from 0 up to 3,650 days, and carries a badge you upload or pick from Vonza’s set. ### How does the community leaderboard work? The leaderboard ranks members by points, with the top three on a podium. Members can view All time or the Last 30 days, and see their own place and the points they need to pass the member above. In the admin you can also view the last 7 or 90 days. Members who tie share a place, and the community owner does not appear on the board. ### What does a member see on their You page? Their points, their place on the leaderboard, their posts and comments, their rank and level, a progress bar showing the points left to the next level, and the levels they have reached so far. ### Which milestones get a celebration? Joining the community, a first post, a first comment, reaching a new level, earning a new rank, finishing in the top three of the month, activity streaks of 3, 7 and 30 days in a row, and 10, 50 and 100 reactions on a post. ### Can I keep content or chat for members who reach a level? Vonza has an owner setting for each. In Content, a course linked to the community can be set to Unlock at a level, and in Chat settings you can let members start chats From a level you pick.
