Canonical: https://vonza.net/blog/sell-online-in-nigeria-with-paystack You can sell online in Nigeria by putting your course, membership, community or product behind a checkout that takes **Paystack** payments in **Naira**. On Vonza that is how every account that sells in Naira gets paid: buyers pay by card in Paystack's popup, and the money is paid out in Naira to your Nigerian bank account on the schedule you choose. This guide covers the setup, what buyers can pay for, how payouts work and what Paystack charges. ## What you can sell in Naira Anything you build on Vonza can be sold through a Naira checkout: - an online course or a bundle of courses, - a membership tier or a paid community, - a digital or physical product, - or just the page itself, for coaching, a service or a deposit you deliver yourself. A [Vonza checkout](https://vonza.net/checkout) sells one main item, with up to five add-on offers next to the payment form and one more offer right after payment. ## Set up Paystack in three steps 1. **Sell in Naira.** Your account sells in one currency, set in Settings › General. Choose Nigerian Naira, and Paystack becomes your payment provider. Every price you create is in Naira. 2. **Link your bank account.** In your payment settings, add the Nigerian bank account your payouts should go to. You cannot pick a payout schedule until a bank account is linked. 3. **Pass the identity check.** Payouts start once your identity verification is approved. Then build your checkout, set its price and publish it. On each checkout the Paystack switch is on by default. ## What buyers can pay for with Paystack Paystack on Vonza takes card payments, and it works with every way of charging: - **One-time payments**, the simplest case. - **Instalments**, from 1 to 120 payments, every week, month, year or set number of days. Paystack keeps an authorisation of the buyer's card, so the later payments are taken on schedule without the buyer paying again by hand. - **Subscriptions** that renew every day, week, month or year. - **Pay what you want** and **flexible** prices, and free sign-ups. After payment you can show **one more offer**. A buyer who paid with Paystack can take it in one click: the same card is charged again, with no form to fill in. Read more about [one-click offers after payment](https://vonza.net/one-click-upsell) and [order bumps](https://vonza.net/order-bumps) on the payment form itself. What is not available on a Naira account: bank transfer and USSD payments through Vonza (Paystack takes cards only here), PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Klarna. Those last four are for accounts that sell in other currencies, and there is a full comparison in [Stripe vs PayPal vs Paystack](https://vonza.net/blog/stripe-vs-paypal-vs-paystack). ## How payouts work On Vonza, a Naira payment is collected through Vonza's Paystack account. Vonza then pays you out in Naira: - to the bank account you linked in your payment settings, - **daily, weekly or monthly**, as you choose (weekly payouts run at the end of the week, monthly ones at the end of the month), - once your identity check is approved. If you have used Paystack directly for your own business, its published schedule is different, because it describes payouts from your own Paystack account. Paystack says Naira payouts are made the **next working day**, only on working days (not weekends or public holidays), with a minimum payout of NGN 100 (Paystack help centre, "Automated payouts", read 7 November 2026). On Vonza, the schedule you pick in your payment settings is the one that applies. ## What Paystack charges in Nigeria Paystack publishes these rates for Nigerian businesses (Paystack help centre, "Transactions pricing", read 7 November 2026): | Payment | Paystack's published fee | | --- | --- | | Local payments (all local channels) | 1.5% + NGN 100 | | Local payments under NGN 2,500 | 1.5% (the NGN 100 is waived) | | Cap on local fees | NGN 2,000 per payment | | International cards (Mastercard, Visa, Verve) | 3.9% + NGN 100 | | International American Express | 4.5% | So a NGN 20,000 course bought with a Nigerian card costs NGN 400 in Paystack's fee at these rates (1.5% is NGN 300, plus NGN 100), and any local payment large enough to pass the cap costs NGN 2,000. Because Vonza collects Naira payments through its own Paystack account, check the [Africa pricing page](https://vonza.net/africa-pricing) for what you pay per sale on your plan. ## Tips for selling to Nigerian buyers - **Offer a payment plan on higher prices.** A NGN 150,000 programme reads very differently as three payments of NGN 50,000. See [payment plans for online courses](https://vonza.net/blog/payment-plans-for-online-courses) for how to set one up. - **Use Naira round numbers.** Prices like NGN 15,000 or NGN 45,000 are easier to compare and to share in a WhatsApp message than odd amounts. - **Add a small add-on.** A workbook, a template pack or a recorded Q&A ticked on the payment form raises the order value without a second checkout. - **Share one link.** Every checkout has its own link on your site, which also works on your custom domain, so you can put it in your bio, your broadcast lists and your emails.
